Just wrote a lovely long thought for the day on Roots. Their value, their unsung qualities and their purpose, but most of all where we as people planting get things wrong. Where we disadvantage plants and where we make mistakes that harm ourselves, our plants and even our properties.
I wrote it and then my phone crashed and deleted it. I'm not happy, but it has lead me to think more about the subject and I think I will treat it to a rewrite shortly. Watch this space.
In terms of spoilers, Roots are good. We need need them. If plants fail, it is often our fault and when things get damaged by trees and/or roots, again, often our fault and mostly predictable.
